The English language is weird;
It can be understood through tough, thorough thought though. ________________________________________________
A Murder of Crows Back in the Middle ages someone decided that a group of crows should be called a murder. What do crows have to do with murder, who knows for certain. Some people believe that they are a sign of death, while others see them a sign of luck. This makes for a macabre collective noun.

As if there wasn't already enough confusion about the English language, I've found some popular everyday sayings and expressions. I must admit that it's been a while since I've heard a few of these, but it made me smile to remember them. I couldn't help myself but share them with you just to add to the mix and confusion!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to my fellow book worms! You know how I enjoy the English Language, well I found a figure of speech that I had not heard of; HOMONYMN- what is it? A Homonymn is a word that has two completely different meanings. Here are a few examples to give you an idea: Tire: a rubber wheel to become exhausted Fire: smoke and flames to lose one's job |
